On December 1, the 2025 China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Awards Ceremony opened in Xiamen, Fujian. Professor Wang Hainian from the School of Highway Engineering attended the ceremony and delivered a speech as a representative of the winning innovation team.
Professor Wang Hainian’s Team Receives the Innovation Team Award
According to the earlier announcement of the "2025 China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Awards" by the China Highway and Transportation Society, the School of Highway Engineering won a total of 9 awards, including:1 First Prize (leading 1 project),5 Second Prizes (first author of 1 project),2 Third Prizes,1 Innovation Team Award (leading).
Professor Wang Hainian Delivers Speech as a Representative of the Winning Innovation Team
Among the awards, the project "Key Technologies, Equipment, and Engineering Applications for Accurate and Intelligent Detection and Identification of Road Infrastructure Defects," led by Professor Jiang Wei, won the First Prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award. Additionally, the "Innovation Team for Pavement Durability Enhancement and Refined Maintenance," led by Professor Wang Hainian, marks the first time since the establishment of the Innovation Team Award last year that Chang'an University has received this honor.
Project Led by Professor Jiang Wei Wins First Prize
Furthermore, the School achieved the following results:The project "Research and Application of Key Construction Technologies for Long-Span Steel Tube Arch Bridges in V-Shaped Steep Cliff Valleys," with Professor Wang Xiaoming as the first author, and the project "Theory, Methods, and Key Technologies for Accurate and Efficient Forming and Intelligent Collaborative Wind Resistance of Long-Span Cable-Supported Bridges," in which Professor Wang Xiaoming participated, both won Second Prizes in the Science and Technology Progress Award.
Professor Liu Yongjian’s project "Theoretical System Construction and Key Technology Application of Jointless Girder Bridges" also won a Second Prize.
Associate Professor Pan Binghong’s project "Key Technologies and Demonstrations for Enhancing Traffic Resilience and Operational Control of Expressways in Urban Agglomerations" won a Second Prize.
Dr. Xia Zili’s project "Key Technologies and Applications of Laser Rust Removal Intelligent Robots for Cross-Sea Bridge Steel Structures" won a Second Prize.
Professor Zhou Zhijun’s project "Bearing Behavior and Intelligent Grouting Equipment Development and Application of Post-Grouting Piles for Highway Bridges in Loess Areas" won a Third Prize.
Senior Engineer Cheng Gao’s project "Secondary Swivel Construction Technology for Large-Tonnage Single-Tower Cable-Stayed Bridges" won a Third Prize.
The China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Awards, established in 2002, are social science and technology awards approved by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of highway transportation science and technology, and they have become the highest, most authoritative, and most influential science and technology awards in China's highway transportation industry.
