On the afternoon of November 25, the Fifth Trade Union Member Representative Congress of Highway College was grandly held at the Academic Exchange Center of the South Campus. Yang Lifeng, Vice Chairman of the University Trade Union, the college's leadership team, and representatives of the Fifth Trade Union Members attended the congress. The meeting was presided over by Liu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee and Vice Dean.
Yang Lifeng, Vice Chairman of the University Trade Union, delivered a speech in which he fully affirmed the remarkable achievements of the Highway College Trade Union over the past years in focusing on the college's central tasks and serving the faculty and staff. He particularly highlighted its active contributions in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of faculty and staff, enriching their spiritual and cultural lives, and fostering harmonious labor relations. He expressed hope that the college trade union would take this election as an opportunity to continue playing its role as a bridge and bond, uniting and leading all members to make further contributions to the reform and development of the college and the university.

Zhang Jiupeng, Secretary of the College Party Committee, addressed the congress, noting that the election meeting was well-organized, procedurally sound, and conducted in a vibrant atmosphere, fully reflecting the rights of Highway College faculty and staff to participate in democratic management and supervision. He expressed hope that the newly elected trade union committee members would live up to the trust and expectations of the entire faculty and staff. Under the leadership of the University Trade Union and the college's Party and administrative bodies, they should inherit and carry forward the fine traditions, actively fulfill their duties, continuously enhance their service capabilities and standards, strive to break new ground in the college's trade union work, and contribute to strengthening faculty cohesion and promoting the high-quality development of the college.
College Party Committee Secretary Zhang Jiupeng Delivers a Speech
Ma Feng, the current Chairman of the College Trade Union, presented the work report and financial revenue and expenditure report to the congress on behalf of the Trade Union Committee. The work report comprehensively reviewed and summarized the work undertaken during the current term, systematically outlining achievements and experiences in areas such as strengthening ideological and political guidance, advancing democratic management and supervision, caring for and serving faculty and staff, organizing cultural and sports activities, and enhancing self-development. It also outlined prospects for future work. The financial report provided a detailed and transparent account of the trade union's income, expenditures, and balances, ensuring clear records and compliant usage, which were reviewed by all members.
College Trade Union Chairman Presents the Report
After carefully reviewing and adopting the work report and financial report, the congress proceeded to the election process. With a highly responsible attitude, the attending members strictly followed the election procedures and processes, casting their sacred votes through a secret ballot. Following an open, fair, and impartial vote-counting process, the congress successfully elected the new members of the Highway College Trade Union Committee.
