To deepen the integration of industry and education and promote the translation of cutting-edge engineering technologies into practical teaching, innovation, and entrepreneurship, the Experimental Teaching and Innovation Entrepreneurship Center of the school invited Li Yongqing, an expert from China Communications First Highway Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., to deliver the 41st lecture titled "Cultivation and Exploration of Innovative Thinking: Characteristics and Innovative Technologies of Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridges in Mountainous Areas" on December 6. The lecture attracted active participation from over a hundred graduate students and faculty members of the Bridge Engineering Department.
The lecture focused on the engineering challenges and innovative solutions for long-span bridges in mountainous areas. Expert Li Yongqing systematically analyzed the technical difficulties under complex environmental and construction constraints, emphasizing the competitiveness of composite girder cable-stayed bridge technology. He also shared several practical cutting-edge innovations, such as the optimization of longitudinal restraint systems and auxiliary pier-free designs. By combining real engineering cases, he highlighted the integration of a full-lifecycle philosophy and rational innovative thinking in bridge design, presenting students with vivid examples that closely link theory with engineering practice.
The lecture content closely aligned with practical teaching needs and innovation project directions, sparking strong interest among students. During the interactive session, students actively raised questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with the expert on topics such as the application of technological innovations in real-world projects and the feasibility of new materials in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. The atmosphere was lively, with vibrant exchanges of ideas.
This lecture is one of the key initiatives of the Experimental Teaching and Innovation Entrepreneurship Center to promote the integration of "learning, research, and innovation." It effectively broadened students' engineering perspectives and strengthened their innovative mindset and practical orientation. The center will continue to connect with high-quality industry resources, build high-level exchange platforms, and support the cultivation of students' innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities, as well as their comprehensive development.
